Under the auspices of the City's Redevelopment Agency, many downtown derelicts were renovated. Mongo's was one of two restaurant tenants in this small, single story, historic building. Suffering from many years of neglect, the building was rehabilitated inside by private funding and on its two exposed facades by MBA Architects.
In addition to repairing the wood detailing and crumbling stucco, a new storefront was added and HC accessible entries were installed in ceramic tile. The buildingís striking color was selected to emphasize its new look. Completed in 1998.
